Hanoi (VNA) – Vietnam will be one of seven host nations of the AFC U-17 Asian Cup 2026 qualifiers, alongside Bhutan, China, India, Jordan, Kyrgyzstan, and Myanmar, according to the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF).

The qualifying round will take place from November 22 to 30, with the participation of 38 teams, divided into seven groups: three of six teams and four of five teams. The top team in each group will earn a spot in the final.

Vietnam have been placed in Pot 1 for the qualifiers, alongside Australia, Yemen, Iran, Oman, Thailand, and China. The group-stage draw will be held on August 7 at the AFC headquarters in Malaysia.

ꩲ At the recent AFC U-17 Asian Cup 2025 finals, Vietnam were drawn into Group B with Japan, Australia, and the UAE. Despite facing very strong opponents, the Vietnamese team showed resilience, remaining undefeated in all three group-stage matches with identical 1-1 draws. However, due to insufficient points and goal difference, coach Nguyen Quoc Tuan and his players missed out on a spot in the quarterfinals. Nonetheless, their performance, especially the impressive draw against defending champions Japan, left a strong and positive impression./.

🌳 Indian writer captivated by Vietnam’s Cham culture

Taking a journey to the Cham Museum — the modest building in Phan Rang –Thap Cham, Indian writer Ankita Mahabir said that the museum might not boast size but it brims with pride for the local community, featuring carefully preserved sandstone sculptures, portraits, and rare artifacts.

For years, the Vietnamese community in many countries rarely had the chance to experience Vietnam’s traditional arts and culture actitivies organized by the Vietnam government, except the annual event “Vietnam Day Abroad” that has been organised by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs since 2010. But the year 2024 marked a turning point.

In the context of international integration and globalisation, culture and art education plays a vital role in promoting the all-round development of Vietnam's young generation.
