Seoul (VNA) – National flag carrier Vietnam Airlines inaugurated a new direct air service linking Busan - the Republic of Korea (RoK)’s second-largest city with Nha Trang, the renowned beach destination in Vietnam’s central province of Khanh Hoa on June 1.

The new route aims to strengthen direct connectivity and tap into the considerable tourism and economic potential between southern RoK and one of Southeast Asia’s most celebrated coastal cities.

The launch marked a significant milestone in the national carrier’s international expansion strategy and is expected to foster deeper cooperation in tourism and trade between the two nations.

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, Nguyen Huy Duc, head of Vietnam Airlines’ branch in the RoK, underscored the strategic significance of the new route. He reaffirmed the airline’s commitment to consolidating and expanding its global network, particularly in key markets such as the RoK—a country that has consistently ranked among Vietnam’s leading sources of international visitors and has shown strong growth in recent years.

This marks Vietnam Airlines’ second route connecting the RoK with Nha Trang, complementing the already successful Seoul–Nha Trang service. The introduction of the route not only diversifies travel options for Korean passengers but also enhances Vietnam Airlines’ competitiveness against regional carriers.

Vietnamese Ambassador to the RoK Vu Ho congratulated Vietnam Airlines on the successful inaugural flight between Nha Trang and Busan—two of the most dynamic and rapidly developing cities in their respective countries. He described the new route as a vivid testament to the flourishing comprehensive strategic partnership between Vietnam and the RoK, with increasingly strong ties across numerous sectors.

ౠ The Busan–Nha Trang route operates with one flight daily using Airbus A321 aircraft, providing a convenient and comfortable option for Korean travellers eager to explore Nha Trang’s stunning beaches, luxury resorts, and vibrant cuisine. In turn, it offers Vietnamese tourists easier access to Busan—the RoK’s cultural and commercial hub—featuring iconic attractions such as Jagalchi fish market, Beomeosa temple, and Haeundae beach./.
