Vietjet launches first direct flight connecting Vietnam and New Zealand

Hanoi (VNA)🐻– Vietjet has announced its first direct route linking Ho Chi Minh City and Auckland, marking a major milestone in Vietnam–New Zealand relations.
The launch comes as both nations are celebrating 50 years of diplomatic ties and the recent upgrade of their ties to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.
Set to take off this September, the new route will operate four round-trip flights per week using Vietjet’s state-of-the-art fleet.
The announcement was made in the presence of Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, visiting New Zealand Prime Minister Christopher Luxon, and key business leaders from both countries.
PM Luxon hailed the new service as a significant step in strengthening air connectivity, fostering deeper people-to-people exchanges, and driving cooperation in tourism, trade, and education.
