Kuala Lumpur (VNA) – The budget carrier VietJet Air on June 1 launched its newest inter𝔉national route connecting Ho Chi Minh City with Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Addressing the inaugural ceremony at Kuala Lumpur international airport, Vietnamese Deputy Prime Minister Trinh Dinh Dung praised the carrier’s efforts, saying the launch of the air route demonstrates its dynamic and promising development while helping enhance people-to-people exchanges and cooperation in investment, trade and tourism between the two countries.
The official noted his hope that VietJet Air will bring into full play its advantages as a low-cost and safe airline, and make more contributions to the economic, trade and tourism ties between Vietnam and foreign countries.
Leaders of the Malaysian ministries of Transport; and Culture and Tourism expressed their wish that VietJet Air will open routes to other airports in the country.
The Ho Chi Minh City – Kuala Lumpur route is operated on a daily basis. Flying time per section is about one hour and 55 minutes. The flights depart from HCM City at 9:30 (local time) and arrive in Kuala Lumpur at 12:25 (local time). Return flights take off from Kuala Lumpur at 13:00 (local time) and arrive in Ho Chi Minh City at 13:55 (local time).
VietJet is the first airline in Vietnam to operate as a new-age airline with low-cost and diversified services to meet customers’ demands. It provides not only transport services but also uses the latest e-commerce technologies to offer various products and services for consumers.
Currently, the airline boasts a fleet of 36 aircraft, including A320s and A321s, and operates 250 flights each day.
