Dubai (VNA) – Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuanmet with ruler of the Emirate of Ras Al Khaimah Sheikh Saud bin Saqr AlQasimi as part of her trip to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on May 5.
Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi congratulated Vietnamon its development achievements, and expressed his hope for strongercooperation between the Emirate and Vietnam.
The host said he will assign agencies of Ras AlKhaimah to step up cooperation with Vietnam in all fields, pledging tofacilitate the operations of Vietnamese investors, especially in the Emirate’sspecial economic zones.
Xuan said Vietnam and the UAE boast potential tostrengthen their collaboration in the time ahead.
The two sides agreed to consider establishingcooperative ties between Ras Al Khaimah and Vietnamese localities, coordinatein organising cultural activities and people-to-people exchanges, step uptourism promotion, share experience in preserving historical relic sites, andcooperate in education.
The Vice President suggested relevant agencies of the two sidescontinue completing important legal frameworks and mechanisms such as the comprehensiveeconomic partnership agreement (CEPA), and soon establish a Vietnam-UAEbusiness council to enhance links between Vietnamese enterprises and those ofthe UEA and Ras Al Khaimah in particular.
On May 4, Xuan had a meeting with the UAE’s Ministerof Economy Abdulla Bin Touq Al Marri, who spoke highly of the Vietnamese Vice President’s speechat the Global Summit of Women 2023, which took place in Dubai earlier the sameday.
The UAE always keeps a close watch on developments ofthe Vietnamese economy, the minister said, informing that the UAE willsoon send a delegation to Vietnam to seek cooperation opportunities in theSoutheast Asian nation.
He also urged the two sides to push ahead withnegotiations of the CEPA to create breakthroughs for their economiccooperation.
Xuan affirmed that Vietnam stands ready to createfavourable conditions for foreign firms, including those from the UAE, to seek investmentopportunities in the country.
She suggested the two sides soon organise the fifthmeeting of the Vietnam-UAE Inter-Governmental Committee.
During her stay in the UAE, Xuan also met with the Presidentand CEO of Dubai Chambers, one of the largest economic development arms inDubai, and CEO of Elite Agro – the UEA’s leading company in agriculture./.
Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Hong Dien and Minister of State for Foreign Trade Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) have signed a Ministerial Declaration on starting negotiations on a comprehensive economic partnership agreement (CEPA) between the two nations right after Vietnam completed its procedures.
