Vice President meets head of Denmark-Vietnam Friendship Organisation

Copenhagen (VNA) – Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan hosted a reception for the Denmark-VietnamFriendship Organisation (DAVIFO) right after she arrived in Copenhagen onNovember 20 (local time) for an official visit to the European country.

Sheaffirmed that the Vietnamese State highly values the organisation’s contributionsto the comprehensive partnership between the two countries over the past morethan 45 years.

DAVIFOhas also played a role in promoting the land and people of Vietnam in Denmark,and enhancing the friendship between the two peoples, Xuan continued.

She noted her hope that the organisation will continue its support to Vietnam, andmobilise more resources for projects in disadvantaged areas in the SoutheastAsian nation.

DAVIFOPresident Trine Glue Doan told her guest that the organisation has held manycommunity events annually to share information about Vietnam, and raised fundsfor and supported development projects in the country.

DAVIFOwill work harder to better assist Vietnamese people, while enhancingcooperation with the Sweden – Vietnam, Norway - Vietnam friendship organisationsto promote Vietnam’s image in the three Scandinavian countries, she pledged.

Thetwo sides agreed to foster cooperation between DAVIFO and the Vietnam-DenmarkFriendship Association, thus enhancing exchanges between residents of the twocountries, especially their youths.
The Vice President also called at the Vietnamese Embassy in Denmark, and engaged in a meeting with the embassy's staff and representatives of the Vietnamese community in the country./.
