Vice President encourages frontliners in COVID-19 fight in Tay Ninh

Tay Ninh (VNA) – Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan on September 22 visited and offered encouragement to frontliners in the fight against COVID-19 in Trang Bang township, Moc Bai international border gate in Ben Cau district, and businesses in Phuoc Dong industrial park in the southern province of Tay Ninh.

The province has so far basically expanded pandemic-free areas, accounting for 86 percent. Seven out of the province's nine districts, townships and cities have returned to new normal.

Xuan asked provincial authorities to come up with specific anti-pandemic plans for each area, unit and locality while mitigating the emergence of hotspots in the community, ensuring social welfare for residents, especially the poor in border areas, towards gradually recovering the economy.

Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Vo Duc Trong said Tay Ninh has so far recorded 8,275 infection cases, 6,489 of them had recovered and 119 died from the disease.

The province is now home to 185 enterprises with 56,000 workers who are working under “three-on-site” model, or 40 percent of the total./.
