VFF President receives new Japanese ambassador to Vietnam

Hanoi (VNA) – President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) Central Committee Do Van Chien on June 24 hosted a reception for newly appointed Japanese Amba๊ssador to Vietnam Ito Naoki.

Chien briefed the guest on position, functions and tasks of the VFF in the current period. He highlighted its role in offering social supervision and criticism, gathering opinions and recommendations of voters and citizens nationwide to report to the competent authorities and developing friendship and cooperation with the people of countries around the world through people-to-people diplomacy and overseas Vietnamese affairs. The host expressed his joy at the strong and comprehensive developments of Vietnam - Japan relations with high political trust and growing economic cooperation, he added.
Japan continues to be Vietnam's leading economic partner and largest ODA cooperation partner, he said, adding the two countries have expanded cooperation to new fields such as energy transition, green transition and semiconductor technology. The Vietnamese community in Japan and Japanese community in Vietnam have actively contributing to the socio-economic development of each country and served as an important bridge helping strengthen mutual understanding between the two countries' people, Chien noted.
He expressed his hope that during his term, Ambassador Naoki will act as a bridge to further promote the comprehensive strategic partnership between Vietnam and Japan, contributing to fostering labour cooperation between the two countries and strengthening the cohesion, mutual understanding and trust between their people through practical and meaningful cultural and people-to-people exchange activities. For his part, Naoki expressed his wish said that in the coming time, the Japanese Embassy will have many opportunities to coordinate with the VFF to realise the suggested contents, thereby contributing to making the comprehensive strategic partnership between Vietnam and Japan more fruitful./.
