VFF President presents scholarships to poor students in Can Tho

Can Tho (VNA) – President of theVietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) Central Committee Tran Thanh Man presented 10scholarships worth 3 million VND (128.9 USD) each to poor students in VinhThanh district in the Mekong Delta city of Can Tho on August 2.
He also granted 50 bicycles worth nearly 100million VND (4,295 USD) to needy students.
Man said Vinh Thanh is a remote district in CanTho, so the travelling of locals remains difficult. The bicycles will make it easier forchildren to go to school.
He suggested local authorities and VFF chaptersat all levels pay more attention to education and support to students fromdisadvantaged backgrounds in order to help them continue their study on theoccasion of the 2018-2019 academic year.-VNA
“We are making efforts to give ethnic minority students bigger scholarships so they can cover living expense, study well and become good citizens,” said President of Vu A Dinh Scholarship Fund.
President Tran Dai Quang has extolled 70 underprivileged students for their efforts to overcome a range of difficulties to achieve high academic results for many years.
As many as 1,000 scholarships and 3,000 gifts will be presented to poor children in areas with extreme natural conditions or suffered from natural disaster and flood of seven central localities.
