Despite Vietnam's efforts and achievements in ensuring human rights, including the protection of freedom of religion and belief, which have been recognised and highly praised by many countries, certain individuals and organisations with hostile ideologies have continued to distort the truth, fabricate stories, and create false narratives with malicious intents.
One of sabotage ruses of hostile and reactionary forces is to take advantage of religious affairs to incite followers and people to disturb political stability and social order and safety, thus creating pretexts for external interventions to sabotage Vietnam.
Vietnam is home to different forms of religions and beliefs that are co-existing, and this serves the need for religious and spiritual life of a large number of people.
The Government Committee for Religious Affairs held a discussion in Hanoi on August 28 with visiting Professor Mary Ann Glendon, Commissioner of the US Commission on International Religious Freedom.
