WashingtonD.C. (VNA) - The US Navy and the Royal Thai Navybegan the 24th annual Cooperation Afloat Readiness and Training(CARAT) exercise in Pattaya, Thailand, on June 14.

The multi-nationalexercise series is organised in bilateral phases with regional nations and isdesigned to enhance capabilities in a broad spectrum of naval operations.
The exercise series feature cooperative evolutions thathighlight the ability of partner nations to work together towards the commongoal of ensuring a free, open, and stable Indo-Pacific maritime securityenvironment. 
Additional phases of CARAT will take place in Indonesia, Malaysia,Brunei and Bangladesh throughout summer.-VNA
