Hanoi (VNA) – Exodus, an American volleyball team,played in a friendly match with Vietnam’s Duc Giang team in Hanoi on July 12.

The match was part of a sports exchange programme to createfriendship among young people of the two nations.

After the match, the Exodus team is scheduled to visit HaLong Bay to study environmental protection efforts there and other culturaldestinations like the Temple of Literature, the Museum of Ethnology and KOTOrestaurant, which trains at-risk children in the hospitality trade.

After Vietnam, the team will visit Luang Prabang, Laos, andjoin exchange programmes there.

This December, some Vietnamese and Laos volleyball teams,sponsored by the US Department of State, will travel to San Diego to play localteams and explore cultural destinations there.

This exchange programme is organised by the San Diego CityCouncil and US National Ability Centre. 

The Exodus volleyball team was formed to provide qualifiedtraining courses for at-risk young people. The programme is an opportunity foryoung female athletes from different social and cultural foundations toovercome differences, explore the world and become young ambassadors of the US.-VNA
