Permanent Representative of Vietnam to the United Nations Ambassador Dang Hoang Giang welcomed the newly reached ceasefire agreements between Israel and Hamas, and between Israel and Lebanon.

Vietnam supports all efforts to ensure the safe and effective operations of the UN Relief and Works Agency for Palestinian Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA), including ensuring that sufficient resources are available for the agency to carry out its mandate, Vietnamese Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Do Hung Viet has said.

Vietnamese Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son has affirmed that Vietnam had a successful tenure as a non-permanent member of the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) for 2020-2021, a difficult period for the world and the UNSC in particular due to complicated, uncertain and unprecedented developments in the world.
