Ukraine highly values Vietnam’s initiative on UNSC debate
Ukrainian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergiy Kyslytsya recently had a meeting with Vietnamese Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh at the United Nations headquarters in New York to discuss a number of current issues on bilateral and international relations.

Moscow (VNA) – Ukrainian Deputy Foreign MinisterSergiy Kyslytsya recently had a meeting with Vietnamese Deputy Prime Ministerand Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh at the United Nations headquarters in NewYork to discuss a number of current issues on bilateral and international relations.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine saidin a news release that its deputy minister attended the UN Security Councilopen debate “Upholding the UN Charter to Maintain International Peace andSecurity”, chaired by Deputy PM and Foreign Minister Minh.
In his speech, Kyslytsya highly valued Vietnam’sinitiative to launch the year marking the UN’s 75th anniversary with thediscussion of the importance of upholding its founding document – the UNCharter.
The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry said atKyslytsya’s meeting with the Deputy PM and Foreign Minister of Vietnam, the twosides focused on the prospects of strengthening relations in economic, tradeand political areas, as well as of the enhancement of cooperation between thetwo countries at the UN and other international organisations. They alsocommended the ongoing development of friendly partnership ties between thecountries.
In particular, they agreed to continue workingon the preparation for vice-ministerial political consultations in 2020 and avisit by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy to Vietnam.
Minh expressed sincere condolences in connectionwith the crash of the Ukrainian plane in Iran and agreed with Ukraine’sposition on the need to ensure a comprehensive, independent and transparentinvestigation into this tragedy./.

The Chairman stressed the need for stricter fiscal discipline, faster digital transformation, and more efficient management of State budget revenues and expenditures.
