Two representatives from Vietnam Young Physicians Association join Global Health Commission

On the list of 34 members of the Global Health Commission, there are two representatives from the Vietnam Young Physicians Association – Dr Ha Anh Duc and Professor Tran Xuan Bach.

Hanoi (VNA) – Havard Medical School of Harvard University of the US has announced a list of 34 members and 15 advisors participating in the Lancet Global Health Commission on universal access to patient-centric care.

On the list, there are two representatives from the Vietnam Young Physicians Association, - Dr Ha Anh Duc, head of the Ministry of Public Health’s Department of Medical Services Administration, and Professor Tran Xuan Bach, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Young Physicians Association, senior lecturer at the Hanoi Medical University.

Born in Hai Phong in 1973, Duc graduated from Hanoi Medical University, major in general medicine. He completed his master in public health at Harvard Medical School of Harvard University, the US, in 2004, and defended his PhD thesis in public health at Boston University School of Public Health, the US, in 2010.

Professor Tran Xuan Bach, born in 1984, is a senior lecturer, Deputy Head of Department of Health Economics, School of Preventive Medicine and Public Health at Hanoi Medical University, Vice President of the Vietnam Youth Federation and Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Young Physicians Association.

The Lancet Global Health Commission on Universal Access to Patient-Centered Care was established by Harvard Medical School, Centre for Primary Health Care. The Commission members are selected from leading experts in various fields around the world such as: health management, policy making, scholars, researchers, representatives of social organisations or private partners.

Information shared on the website of Harvard Medical School on October 10 noted that participants in this important mission will work to improve healthcare with the focus toward patients on a global scale. The Vietnam Young Physicians Association is a voluntary social-professional organisation of young Vietnamese physicians striving for the development of young physicians and the cause of protecting, caring for and improving people's health. It aims to unite and gather young Vietnamese physicians at home and abroad, contributing to fostering and promoting the potential, knowledge and efforts of young physicians striving for the cause of protecting, caring for and improving people's health.

With more than 90,000 members across the country, the Vietnam Young Physicians Association has made many contributions in caring for and improving people's health. In recent years, the Vietnam Young Physicians Association at all levels has carried various programmes and volunteer activities for the health of the entire population, promoting the strength of young doctors in the community as well as its role as the "companion in the community" of young physicians nationwide.

﷽ In this year's campaign, the association has been promoting the application of science and technology in early diagnosis and disease screening, especially the application of artificial intelligence (AI) in screening and early detection of lung disease, including lung cancer.
