Ho Chi Minh City police has arrested two Malaysians forallegedly using cloned ATM and credit cards to withdraw money and buyhigh-value goods.
Cheng Puising and Wong Siew Wah,both born in 1995, were caught at an ATM in Dong Khoi road, Ben Nghedistrict after the police received a call from the Vietcombank CardCentre about suspicious money withdrawals there. The police seized atotal of 32 counterfeit cards from them.
The pair toldthe police that they were attempting to withdraw money from the ATM.They also confessed that they had previously bought a Louis XIII bottleof wine worth 106 million VND (5,000 USD) by a cloned credit card at ahotel in District 1.
The police suspects these people have involved in many other fraudulent card transactions in the city.
