TV shows on Vietnamese seas and islands to release

A documentary film on Vietnamese seas and islands produced by Ho Chi Minh City Television Film Studio (TFS) will air next month.

HCM City (VNS/VNA) - A documentary film on Vietnamese seas and islandsproduced by Ho Chi Minh City Television Film Studio (TFS) willair next month.

Dao Khat (Life in Islands)features famous islands of the coastal provinces Ba Ria-Vung Tau, KhanhHoa, Kien Giang and Ca Mau.

Thehistory, culture and lifestyle of local people are highlighted as well asthe economy and social issues which affect the lives ofresidents in fishing villages. 

“Our filmwill provide audiences, particularly young people, information about thecountry’s seas and islands,” Ly Quang Trung, director of the TFS, said.

TFS isproviding both human resources and finance to produce TV programmesfocusing on Vietnamese seas, islands and farming communities. 

“TFSstaff has worked with its partners in southern provinces to produce TVprogrammes which feature traditional culture and lifestyle, and touristdestinations in the coastal region,” he said.  

TFS willrelease three TV shows, Song Mo Coi (Alone Waves), RungThieng (Sacred Forest) and Dao Hoang (DesertedIslands), which portray the daily life of farmers living on islands.

Theseshows feature difficulties in life and work that poor farmers and childrenface today.

“Ourfilming staff has travelled to remote areas of Ca Mau and Dong Thap to captureinteresting scenes of rural life. These films will be completed later this yearand will be sold to seven TV stations in the region, including Vinh LongTelevision and Binh Duong Television,” Trung said.

Theprevious shows Ra Khoi (Setting Sail) and Thoi Su NongNghiep (Agricultural News) are popular among the rural community.

Ra Khoi on HTV9 channel everyFriday has become a forum for farmers to discuss their agricultural successesand problems.

The20-minute programme has five segments, including the latest information aboutfarming and opportunities and challenges during Vietnam’s integrationin the global economy.

Itfeatures personalities who have achieved farming success and are selling theirproduce at home and abroad.

Thoi SuNong Nghiep isbroadcast for 20 minutes every weekend on HTV9. The show offers the latestinformation and reports to help southern farmers to run their businesses.

Theproducers invited dozens of experienced businesspeople and farm owners toparticipate in the programme.

Bothshows, Ra Khoi and Thoi Su Nong Nghiep, havereceived thousands of letters each month from viewers in the region.

Thedocumentary, Dao Khat, will air every Monday and Friday at 9pmstarting in August.-VNS/VNA
