The Trang An Landscape Complex, the first-ever Mixed Heritage Site of Vietnam and Southeast Asia, has not only become a key driver of socioeconomic development for the northern province of Ninh Binh but also served as a model for inspiring the preservation of humanity’s valuable assets.

After 10 years of being recognised by UNESCO as a world cultural and natural heritage, the Trang An Scenic Landscape Complex has proven to be a vital asset and a key driver for the socio-economic development of Ninh Binh province. Trang An possesses all the necessary elements to become a center of the “Millennium Heritage city”.

UNESCO Assistant Director-General for Priority Africa and External Relations Firmin Edouard Matoko on October 28 applauded the northern province of Ninh Binh for its determination, commitment and direction in preserving and promoting the value of Trang An heritage site.

The Thung Nham Ecotourism Area is located within the core area of the Trang An Landscape Complex in Ninh Binh province, which has been recognised by UNESCO as a World Cultural and Natural Heritage. On an area of over 300 hectares, it offers all types of general tourism, with the most impressive being exploring bird gardens and experiencing the amazing cave network known as a “Tropical Symphony”.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on July 10 issued a decision on approving the task of formulating a planning project to preserve and restore the special national landscape site of Trang An - Tam Coc - Bich Dong in the northern province of Ninh Binh, with the aim of turning the complex into one of the most attractive tourism sites of Vietnam and the world.
