The Mekong Delta province of Kien Giang raked in over 290 million USD from exports in the first four months of this year, accounting for 31.6% of the annual target and up 21.26% from the same period last year.

The Ministry of Industry and Trade (MoIT) will capitalise on signed free trade agreements (FTAs) to diversify markets, step up trade promotions and shift to exports through official channels with a view to gaining 377 billion USD in export revenue this year.

Vietnam is among the exhibitors at the 6th China-South Asia Expo and the 26th China Kunming Import and Export Fair in the city of Kunming, China’s Yunnan province, from November 19-22.

Export revenue in 2020 is estimated to reach 267 billion USD while imports are to reach 260 billion USD, resulting in a trade surplus of some 7 billion USD. Experts said 2020 has been a tough year for all economic sectors, but foreign trade has been profitable.

Minister of Industry and Trade Tran Tuan Anh has suggested agencies in Vietnam and Canada to devise a mechanism to exchange information and handle trade defence cases.
