Tourism festival to be held at Tram Chim National Park

The Mekong Delta province of Dong Thap will organise a tourism festival at the Tram Chim National Park in Tam Nong district on September 25.

Thefestival will include a photo exhibition about the national park, aworld Ramsar site (wetland of international importance), a bird contestand tours to view the park during the delta's flooding season.

The 7,612-ha national park is among the delta's most beautiful destinations during the flooding season.

It has a vast area of green cajeput trees, and beautiful lotus and water lily flowers.

Thepark, which is one of the country's eight most important birdconservation areas, has 198 bird species, including red-headed craneslisted in the World Red Book of endangered species.

Dong Thap considers ecological tourism a priority in the province’s Tourism Development Plan for 2015-2020.

Under the plan, Cao Lanh - Dong Thap’s capital city - will feature lotus flowers and green architectures.

In2015, Dong Thap will give a facelift to most of its major tourist sites– the Nguyen Sinh Sac relic, the Xeo Quyt relic, the Tram Chim NationalPark, Gao Giong ecological tourist site, the Go Thap and Thap Muoilotus field relic, Sa Dec city and Binh Thanh floating village.-VNA
