Tourism app Vietnamgo launched at ATF

The Vietnam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT) under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, and the Vietnam Post and Telecommunications Group (VNPT) launched the local tourism application Vietnamgo in the northern province of Quang Ninh on January 16.

Quang Ninh (VNA) – The Vietnam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT) underthe Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, and the Vietnam Post andTelecommunications Group (VNPT) launched the tourism applicationVietnamgo in the northern province of Quang Ninh on January 16.

The eventformed part of the ASEAN Tourism Forum 2019.

Speaking atthe event, VNPT General Director Ngo Dien Hy said the app features travellinginformation, weather conditions, major destinations, and local specialties,written in both Vietnamese and English. It also offers 360-degree photos, aswell as 3D and virtual reality viewing.

The appwill help improve the service quality of units in the tourism supply chain, aswell as increase their interaction.

During thenext stage, VNPT pledged to continue partnering with VNAT, cities, andprovinces to popularise Vietnam’s tourism by updating the app features thisyear, including adding more destinations, Chinese and Russian language options,information on restaurants, shopping centres and traffic, digital mapping,audio guides, and 360-degree videos.

By 2020, itwill develop new functions, adopt big data, and utilise artificial intelligencetechnology to increase users’ experience.

Hysuggested localities provide tourism information through the app to effectivelyintroduce their locations and top sites to tourists. –VNA
