Torrential rains cause damage to central region

Torrential rains and flooding have caused heavy damage to the central region as of 6pm on October 24, according to the Standing Office of the National Steering Committee on Natural Disaster Prevention and Control.

Hanoi (VNA) – Torrential rains and flooding have cau☂sed heavy damage to the central region asof 6pm on October 24, according to the Standing Office💦 of the National SteeringCommittee on Natural Disaster Prevention and Control.

In the central province of Quang Ngai, a boat with three fishermen on board was sunk in Binh Son district, on October 24 morning, and the fishermen have not been found.

Earlieron October 23, a resident in Nghia Hanh district died after being swept away🌜. 

Asmany as 32 communes in five local districts and townships have been flooded.

Inthe central province of Quang Nam, 25 communes and wards in five districts andtownships have been inundated.

Upto 1,369 households with 4,805 residents in high-risk areas in💝 provinces ofThua Thien-Hue, Quang Nam and Quang Ngai were evacuated.

A tropical low pressure has formed in the East Sea. TheNational Centre for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting forecast that in the next24-48 hours, the tropical low pressure will move west north-west at a speedof about 10-15km per hour, and strengthen into a storm. In the next 48-72 hours, it will continue to move westnorth-west at an hourly speed of 10-15km./.

Vietnam ramps up plastic waste recycling, reuse, treatment effo๊rts

In 2019, Quang Ninh became one of the first localities in Vietnam to launch a province-wide campaign against plastic waste, mobilising the participation of the political system, the business sector, and the general public.
