Hanoi (VNA) - Party General Secretary and President Nguyen Phu Trong offeredincense to commemorate late President Ho Chi Minh at House No 67 inside thePresidential Palace complex in Hanoi on September 1, on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the August Revolution (August 19) and National Day (September2).

Alsopresent were Vice President Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh, former Vice President TruongMy Hoa, and leaders of the Party General Secretary and President Offices.

Highlightingthe responsibility of realising the late President’s testament and the Declarationof Independence, the Party and State leader said this year’s National Daycelebration is being held in conjunction with the organisation of congresses byParty organisations at all levels nationwide in preparation for the 13th National Party Congress.

He alsotook the occasion to thank staff at the complex for fulfilling their assignedtasks.

The leader thenvisited an exhibition at the complex, which displays nearly 100 documentaryphotos related to President Ho Chi Minh’s revolutionary career.

PresidentHo Chi Minh led the country to success in its struggle for nationalindependence. On September 2, 1945, he read the Declaration of Independence, proclaimingto the world the foundation of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam, now theSocialist Republic of Vietnam.

He was atalented leader and a national hero who devoted his whole life to the cause of nationalindependence and freedom and happiness for the people while tirelessly strivingfor peace and progress in the world.

House 67 iswhere President Ho Chi Minh had lived, worked, and passed away. It was the venueof Politburo meetings during the fiercest years of war./.
