Hanoi (VNA)ꦜ - TikTok plans to invest 8.8 billion USD in Thailand over the next five years, focusing on digital infrastructure development, human resources training and online safety initiatives.

The information was announced on February after a meeting between representatives of TikTok and the Thai government.
Helena Lersch, TikTok’s Vice President of public policy, met Thai Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra in Bangkok on February 28 to discuss the expansion. Thai PM Paetongtarn hailed the investment, considering this a big opportunity for digital infrastructure and AI development in Thailand. The investment includes training programmes for businesses and creators, anti-fraud campaigns, and a new data hosting service to enhance local cloud capabilities./.
