Three waterway projects in Mekong Delta proposed

Hanoi (VNA) - The Vietnam Inland Waterway Administration has proposed theMinistry of Transport consider and invest in three waterway transport projectsin the Mekong Delta under public-private-partnership (PPP) form.

The first is the upgrading of an 86km stretch of the Ham Luong River to allowpassage of vessels of up to 5,000 DWT.

The project also involves construction of a transit port and a 2000 sq.mwarehouse by 2020. In 2030, one more transit port and 4,000 sq.m of warehousewill be built. Total cost is estimated around 500 billion VND (21.9 million USD).

🌺 Meanwhile, the construction of the My Thuan ferry port in Tien Giang provinceand that of Tan Chau Port in An Giang province are expected to cost 20 billionVND and 25 billion VND respectively.-VNA
