Hanoi (VNA) – The eighth plenum of the 12th CommunistParty of Vietnam (CPV) Central Committee had the third working day in Hanoi onOctober 4.

In the morning, the committee discussed in groups a reportreviewing the ten years of the implementation of the Resolution on Vietnam seastrategy until 2020 adopted by the fourth plenum of the 10th CPV CentralCommittee.

In the afternoon, committee members continued looking into thereport.

Earlier, the committee reviewed and decided to takedisciplinary measures against Nguyen Bac Son, former member of the PartyCentral Committee, former Secretary of the Party Committee and former Ministerof Information and Communications by removing him from the position of memberof the Party Central Committee (11th tenure) and Secretary of theParty Committee of the ministry for the 2011-2016 tenure.

The committee also reviewed and decided to take disciplinarymeasures against Tran Van Minh, former member of the Party Central Committee, former deputy head of the Party Central Committee’s Organisation Commission, former ViceSecretary of the Da Nang City Party’s Committee, former Secretary of themunicipal Party Committee and former Chairman of the municipal People’sCommittee by expelling him from the CPV.-VNA
