Thanh Hoa (VNA) – 💟A whale carcass weighing morethan 10 tonnes was found washed up on the shore of Tien Thang village of QuangXuong district in the north central province of Thanh Hoa on January 27.
The carcass, about 7 metres in length, was in the process ofdecomposition, with its head detached. Local fishermen brought the carcass for burial later on theday. Vietnamese coastal residents believe whale is a sacredanimal that helps fishermen at sea. Therefore, they often rescue the animal orbury the dead ones in a solemn ceremony./.
A whale, about 3 metres in length and 300kg in weight, was found washed up on the shore of Tuy Hoa city in the south-central province of Phu Yen on April 6.
Measuring 12 metres in length and nearly 2 metres in width, an intact massive whale skeleton is displayed in a glass cabinet at a temple worshipping Ong Nam Hai (the local respectful name of whale) in Da Loc commune, Hau Loc district, the north-central coastal province of Thanh Hoa.
