Thailand, Ukraine agree to increase trade, investment

The Thai Minister of Commerce has revealed that Thailand and Ukraine agreed to increase mutual trade and investment as well as overall engagement via the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC).
Bangkok (NNT/VNA) – The Thai Minister of Commerce has revealed that Thailand andUkraine agreed to increase mutual trade and investment as well as overallengagement via the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC). 

Minister Aphiradee Tantraporn said after a courtesy visit bythe Ambassador of Ukraine to Thailand that Thailand and Ukraine wish to expandtrade and investment opportunities with each other through bilateral, multilateraland regional cooperation.

The minister said she used her meeting to invite Ukrainian investors toconsider Thailand’s EEC. 

Aphiradee explained that Thailand is seeking to become themodern economic centre of ASEAN and has issued a range of measures to attractinvestment, especially by innovators and high technology companies. It islooking to attract research and development firms in Ukraine’s aviation andaerospace industries, due to the country’s expertise. 

In response, the Ukrainian ambassador said that his country seesThailand as the gateway to ASEAN and also wants the Southeast Asian nation tosee it as a doorway to Europe.-VNA

Thai Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Commerce Vuttikrai Leewiraphan Thailand's formal proposal will be substantial enough for the US to consider further detailed negotiations.
