Thailand Tourism Festival 2019 to take place from Jan 23-27

Bangkok (NNT/VNA) - The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) willhost Thailand Tourism Festival 2019 from January 23 to 27 at Lumpini Park,Bangkok.

The TAT Governor, Yuthasak Supasorn, said on January 10 that this year’s eventwill promote environmentally responsible tourism, as it helps protect andconserve natural resources.

The country’s largest domestic tourism festival is expected to welcome some600,000 visitors and generate about 400 million baht in circulation, which ishigher than the previous year at 390 million baht.

There will be exhibition zones to help visitors plan their vacations todifferent destinations of the country.

The TAT Governor added that the tourism sector in 2018 performed well asexpected, with 38.1 million foreign visitors generating 1.99 trillion baht inrevenue, while Thai people have made 167 million trips generating 1 trillionbaht revenue, making the gross tourism revenue in 2018 being 3.05 trillion,which is 5 percent higher than in 2017. – NNT/VNA
