Deputy Secretary-General of the House ofRepresentatives, Pornpith Phetchareon on Augut 10 chaired a meeting to discusspreparations for hosting the 40th ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly (AIPA) in2019.
The meeting was attended by executives and officialsfrom the Secretariat of the House of Representatives and the Secretariat of theSenate. They shared ideas about accommodating leaders and parliamentarians fromthe 10 ASEAN member nations, as well as representatives from various othercountries and organisations.
The organizing committee acknowledged the manygatherings to take place in 2019, including the ASEAN Summit, the AIPAFact-Finding Committee (AIFOCOM) meeting and the main AIPA assembly. Thecommittee is committed to ensuring that all the requisite arrangements arecompleted ahead of time.-VNA/NNT
