Bangkok (VNA) – The Thai government wants to have control over howmovies describe the ordeal of teenage footballers and their rescue from floodedTham Luang cave that drew attention of the worldwide public as well as foreignfilm-makers.
Culture Minister Vira Rojpochanarat said at next week’s Cabinet meeting, hewill propose establishing a special committee to oversee the production offilms, documentaries, and videos related to the experiences of 12 boys andtheir coach who were trapped in Tham Luang cave for almost three weeks beforebeing rescued.
The committee, comprising officials from many ministries, will oversee content,grant licence and ensure the privacy of the rescued team and their families.
The boys, aging between 11-16, and coach of the Wild Boars football team gottrapped in the cave on June 23. After 10 days cut off from the outside world, theywere found by two British divers. The authorities then mobilised 90 divers,including 50 foreigners, to join in the rescue campaign.
The campaign ended in success when the last member of the football team was pulledout of the cave on July 10.-VNA
