Thailand strengthens agricultural supply chain

Thailand’s Ministry of Commerce has assigned three agencies to draft a plan to expand and strengthen the supply chain of farm produce and find markets for agricultural products.

Bangkok (VNA) – Thailand’s Ministry of Commerce has assignedthree agencies to draft a plan to expand and strengthen the supply chain of farmproduce and find markets for agricultural products.

According to Thai Minister of Commerce Apiradi Tantraporn, the threeagencies are the departments of Internal Trade, Foreign Trade and InternationalTrade Promotion.

Target products include rice, cassava, maize and palm oil, she said,adding that the plan aims to promote the products both domestically and abroad.

The plan will be associated with localities’ plans to adjust theproduction and distribution process of the products.

Apiradi Tantraporn expressed her belief that farm produce will seek newmarkets with suitable price to maintain competitiveness.

At the same time, authorities were asked to monitor agricultural developmentsto manage supply and ensure that negative news will not affect customers.-VNA
