Bangkok (VNA)♋ - Thailand has seen its first caseof human-to-human transmission of the new coronavirus inside the country, ahealth official said on January 31.
The infected person is a Thai taxi driver who does not have therecord of travelling to China, said Deputy Director General of the Departmentof Disease Control Tanarak Pipat. He added it is likely that the taxi driver caught the virus froma sick traveller from China. Thailand’s previous cases have all been either Chinese touristsor Thais who had visited China, where the virus originated. Apart from China, six countries have recorded human-to-humantransmission of the virus, which are the US, Germany, Japan, Vietnam, theRepublic of Korea and Thailand./.
