Thailand, Laos launch forest fire prevention campaign

Thailand and Laos have launched an annual campaign to prevent and address forest fire between both countries.
Bangkok (NNT/VNA)– Thailand and Laos have launched an annual campaign to prevent and addressforest fire between both countries.

The Governor of Chiang Rai, Prachon Prachsakul, welcomed a delegation of 30people from Laos during the launch at Phu Chi Fa Forest Park in the northernprovince of Chiang Rai on Feb 18.

The event, organisedby the Chiang Rai Provincial Office of Natural Resources and Environment, wasattended by a large number of people.

During the dry seasonfrom December to May every year, Chiang Rai and the border area betweenThailand and Laos often suffer from forest fire, which causes air pollution andaffects people’s health in both countries.

The campaign aims atintegrating cooperation between the two countries, which will also strengthenthe bilateral relations.-NNT/VNA
