Bangkok (VNA/NNT)🐎 – Thailand and Laos have held their second bilateral meeting on further cooperation in combating human trafficking.

The meeting, which took place in Thailand’s Phuket province last week, focused on addressing human trafficking at all phases of trade. It also discussed the details of various agreements, which stipulate policies for prevention and suppression of human trafficking as well as the reintegration of trafficking victims into society. These details will be incorporated in a second memorandum of understanding (MOU), which will address human trafficking at all phases of trade as well as aid measures for its victims. Both countries signed the first MOU on July 13, 2005 to fight the trafficking of persons, particularly women and children. They have continued to enhance joint efforts to decisively combat human smuggling through the establishment of various action plans.-VNA/NNT
