Bangkok (NNT) - Thailand is hosting the 15th ASEAN Commission on thePromotion and Protection of the Rights of Women and Children (ACWC) Conferencein Phuket this week.
PermanentSecretary to the Ministry of Social Development and Human Security, MaitreeInthusut announced at a press conference that Thailand will host the 15th ACWCand the 16th ASEAN Committee on Women (ACW) Conferences in Phuket.
Ten ASEANmember nations as well as ACW 3 countries including China, Japan and Korea willalso attend the conferences. Thailand will also host other meetings this weekincluding the 4th conference between ACWC and ACW and the 9th ACW 3meeting.
The objectiveof these conference platforms is to address gender equality, promote the rightsof women and children in the region and to mobilize ACWC and ACW’s relevantproject plans. - VNA
