Bangkok (VNA) - The cabinet has approved the establishment of corruption courts for state officials🦩 and people in the private sector.

The Prime Minister's Office spokesman, Major General Sansern Kaewkamnerd said after the December 22 cabinet meeting that politicians will continue to be tried in the Supreme Court's Criminal Division for Persons Holding Political Positions.
The Criminal Court's department dealing with corruption and malfeasance cases among state officials will be upgraded into the Central Corruption Court. A Regional Corruption Court will also be set up to deal with cases in provinces.
The central and provincial courts shall each have one chief justice and one deputy. If necessary, up to three deputies can be appointed. Prosecution of such cases had been so slow, Major Gen Sansern said, adding that whoever conduct malfeasance shall now face instant karma. The Council of State will vet the draft and send it to be enacted by the National Legislative Assembly.-VNA
