Bangkok (NNT/VNA) - TCEB has announced the success of Thailand in beingrecognised as a hub of ASEAN MICE through venue standards.

Dr Atchaka Sibunruang, Chairman of the Board of Directors, Thailand Conventionand Exhibition Bureau or TCEB, presided over the Thailand MICE Venue Standards andASEAN MICE Venue Standards Awards ceremony at a MICE standards day event.

On MICE standards day 2019, 156 venue operators were awarded certificates ofthe Thailand MICE venue standards. TCEB highlights Thailand as the firstcountry in ASEAN to initiate Thailand MICE venue standards (TMVS) as amechanism to support the growth of Meetings, Incentives, Conventions andExhibitions or the MICE industry.

Following the execution of TMVS, Thailand has been urging the development ofASEAN MICE venue standards (AMVS) using TMVS as a model. 20 venue operatorswere awarded certificates of AMVS in this year.

The MICE venue standards scheme has been achieving new levels of success everyyear since its implementation in 2014, said TCEB vice president SupawanTeerarat.

Mrs Supawan also said that TCEB aims to position Thailand as Asia’s MICEbusiness hub that maintains international standards focusing more on mega eventssuch as art & culture, mass participation and innovation. – NNT/VNA
