Bangkok (NNT/VNA) – The cabinet has approved measures to promote second-tier tourist destinations to reduce income disparity. The measures were proposed by the Ministry of Tourism and Sports.

The Tourism and Sports Minister of Thailand, Weerasak Kowsurat, said his ministry has prepared a marketing plan and big data to collect information about travelers' behaviours. The Ministry of Tourism and Sports will also coordinate with Ministry of Transport to build more roads so tourists can visit communities more conveniently.

The "Amazing Thailand Go Local" directory project will provide in-depth information on dining, traveling, and accommodation to stimulate tourism in the second-tier tourist destinations in 55 provinces across the country.

The measures also include Digital Marketing and Local Heroes, focusing on telling famous stories to reduce cultural disparity and organizing activities that strengthen the communities. - VNA
