Bangkok (NNT/VNA) - Phra Chetuphon Vimolmangklararm Rajwaramahaviharn Temple or WatPho of Thailand has been voted by Tripdadvisor.com as the world’s 17th mostpopular tourist attraction and third in Asia.
Wat Pho has gone from the 24th most populartourist site in the world last year to number 17 this year, according to arecent online survey by Tripadvirsor.com. The temple, the 3rd most popularplace in Asia after Preah Vihear and Taj Mahal, is even more popular than theGreat Wall of China.
Around 10,000 tourists visit Wat Pho on a daily basis to seethe reclining Buddha statue. Many of the tourists are from China, the Republicof Korea, France, Germany, England, the United States, India and Russia.
A celebration will be held at the temple from November2 to 11 to mark its 230-year anniversary.-NNT/VNA
