Thai Nguyen hosts “Border spring-Island Tet 2019” programme

Thai Nguyen (VNA) – A programme entitled “Border spring-Island Tet 2019” washeld in the northern province of Thai Nguyen on December 10, drawing over 1,300participants, including lecturers, students and young people.

The event was co-organisedby the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union (HCYU) of Thai Nguyen province, the youthclub for sea and islands under the HCYU Central Committee, the High Command ofthe Vietnam People’s Navy and the Vietnam Youth Museum.

The participantswere updated on the country’s borderlines, sea and islands, thus raisingawareness of their significance in national building and safeguarding.

A photo exhibitionhighlighting the Vietnamese youth’s participation in protecting the country’ssovereignty was held as part of the event.

On the occasion,the organisers presented gifts to four families of officers and soldiers whoare working in border and island areas and six disadvantaged students in theprovince.

Organisationsand individuals in the province also donated gifts to support soldiers inborder and island areas as the traditional Lunar New Year (Tet) is coming.-VNA
