The strong bond between Thailand and Vietnam was reaffirmed during a meeting between President of the National Assembly and Speaker of the House of Representatives of Thailand Wan Muhamad Noor Matha and Vietnamese Ambassador Pham Viet Hung in Bangkok on July 15.

General Secretary of the Vietnamese National Assembly (NA) and Chairman of the NA Office Bui Van Cuong had a working session with Acting Secretary General of the Thai House of Representatives Arpath Sukhanunh in Bangkok, on December 7 on the occasion of NA Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue’s official visit to Thailand.

Members of the House of Representatives and Senate of Thailand on June 5 voted for Prayut Chan-o-cha of the Palang Pracharath Party to be the prime minister of the country.

The Election Commission (EC) of Thailand has endorsed three new female members of the House of Representatives, bringing the total number of approved MPs to a full 500.

The Thai King will convene the first parliament meeting on May 22, according to the Royal Gazette on May 14.

Voting is underway in the general election in Thailand on March 24 with over 50 million people eligible to cast votes.
