“We expect to raise more than 100 million VND from this event, which isexpected to draw about 2,000 participants,” Jon Tomlinson, DirectorGeneral of Montgomerie Links, said.
The funding raised will be dedicated to cancer patients and cancer research in Vietnam , the organiser said.
In 2009, the Montgomerie Links Golf Club, under the assistance of theCanadian Chamber of Commerce (CanCham), organised the Terry Fox Run,which drew 1,500 participants and raised more than 70 million VND.
The Terry Fox Run is an annual non-competitive charity event held invarious regions around the world to commemorate Canadian canceractivist Terry Fox, who made a Marathon of Hope run across Canada toraise funding for cancer research in 1980 after losing a leg toosteosarcoma./.
