Kuala Lumpur (VNA) – The Royal Malaysian Air Force (RMAF) in theEastern Sabah Security Zone should be on full alert of any threat to nationalsecurity from the Islamic State (IS) or other extremist groups.
RMAF Air Operations Chief Lieutenant General Abdul Mutalib Abd Wahab gave thereminder on June 19 following the clash between Philippine troops and militantgroups having close link to the IS in Marawi city.
Wahab said that some of the militants might have fled to Malaysia, thus RMAFpersonnel should be aware of what is happening within the border areas withneighbouring countries.
