State President Truong Tan Sang received Lao Vice President BounnhangVolachith in Hanoi on July 8, during which he stated that the visit willcontribute to consolidating and enhancing the Vietnam-Laos long-lastingfriendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation.

The President highly spoke of the outcomes of talks between VicePresident Bounnhang Volachith and his Vietnamese counterpart Nguyen ThiDoan as well as his meetings with other Vietnamese Party and Governmentleaders.

Congratulating Laos on itssocio-economic development achievements, the State leader believed thatunder the leadership of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party, thecountry would successfully organise the Party’s upcoming 10thCongress.

He also expressed his belief that Laoswill successfully hold the ASEAN Summit in 2016 when it assumes therole of Chair of ASEAN.

The Lao Vice Presidentthanked Vietnam for supporting Laos during its nation-building,affirming that he will do his utmost to, together with Vietnam, maintainand nurture the bilateral ties.

He told thehost that cooperation between the two countries has seen strongdevelopment with Vietnamese investments in Laos producing positiveresults.

Laos continually supports the expansion of Vietnamese businesses and investments in the country, the guest confirmed.-VNA
