Hanoi (VNA) – State President Luong Cuong on November 28 hosted a banquet in honour of Cambodian King Norodom Sihamoni, who is on a state visit to Vietnam.
Warmly welcoming the King and the high-ranking delegation of Cambodia, Cuong expressed his delight at the continuous strengthening and robust development of the bilateral friendship and comprehensive cooperation in recent times.
He emphasised that delegation exchanges and contacts at all levels have been conducted regularly; defence and security cooperation enhanced; economic, trade, and investment ties strengthened. Meanwhile, collaboration in education, training, culture, and healthcare, and people-to-people exchanges have become increasingly diverse and practical.
The President affirmed that King Norodom Sihamoni's visit to Vietnam this time will be a great source of encouragement for the development of bilateral relations, helping strengthen the good neighbourliness between Vietnam and Cambodia, for the benefit and happiness of the two countries' people.
For his part, the Cambodian King stressed that his trip is a continuation of the historical journey started by late King Father Norodom Sihanouk, and other high-ranking leaders.
He stated that the regular exchange of high-level visits has played a key role in strengthening and expanding the friendship and solidarity between the two countries, as well as increasing bilateral cooperation in all areas for the mutual benefit of their people.

On the afternoon of November 28, at the Presidential Palace, President Luong Cuong hosted the official welcome ceremony for Cambodian King Preah Bat Samdech Preah Boromneat Norodom Sihamoni, who is on his State visit to Vietnam.
The trip will be made at the invitations of Chinese Premier Li Qiang and WEF President and CEO Børge Brende, according to an announcement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
