Police in Nhu Xuan district, the central province of Thanh Hoa, have launched a probe into and temporarily detained a man for “abusing the rights to democracy and freedom to infringe on the State’s interests and rights and legitimate interests of organisations and individuals”.

Nay Y Blang, born in 1976 in Song Hinh district, the south-central province of Phu Yen, on January 26 got four years six months in prison for “taking advantage of democratic freedom to infringe upon the interests of the State, the legitimate rights and interests of organisations and individuals”.

A woman in Hanoi has been sentenced to 20 months in prison for the charge of “taking advantage of the rights to freedom and democracy to infringe upon State interests, legitimate rights and interests of organisations and individuals” in accordance with Article 331 of the 2015 Penal Code.
