Hanoi (VNA) – Two Indonesianswho stabbed the country’s chief security minister on October 10 belong toIS-linked terror network Jamaah Ansharut Daulah (JAD), said Indonesia’s StateIntelligence Agency chief Budi Gunawan.
Speaking with reporters, Gunawan said theywere members of JAD, an extremist group responsible for deadly suicidebombings.
Indonesian Chief Security Minister Wirantowas stabbed when he was visiting Pandeglang city in Banten province on theisland of Java.
Images from police and television showedthe minister was getting out of a car before he was attacked.
A man and a woman had been arrested and anofficer had been hurt.
Indonesian officials confirmed that Wirantois being treated in a hospital and his condition is stable.
Police have said that Wiranto was one ofseveral targets in a previously failed assassination plot this year./.
