South African party leader impressed by Vietnam’s achievements

Pretoria(VNA) – General Secretary of the South African Communist Party (SACP) SollyMapaila has expressed his impression at the achievements that Vietnam has gainedunder the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV).
Talking to VietnamNews Agency (VNA) in Pretoria, Mapaila highlighted that Vietnam wonthe victory in the struggle for independence, putting an end to all forms of exploitationas well as hunger and poverty, and building a country of happiness anddevelopment.
Vietnam has affirmed itsposition in the world arena, he noted, adding that at many major internationalforums such as the United Nations, Vietnam has gained an important position andexpanded cooperation at the government level with many countries, while showingits role and progressive standpoints in international relations.
Regarding the relationship between the two parties, Mapaila said that they share long-term ties which have been built and nurturedthrough many generations.
In reality, the two peoples have supported each other during each other’sstruggle for national liberation. In the past, South African people rose up against the imperialist invasion war in Vietnam. Many South African leaders, alongwith others from around the world, participated in many demonstrationsand supported Vietnam in its struggle for independence, said the SACP leader.
He noted that in 1978, then African National Congress (ANC) Party leader OliverTambo also led a delegation to Vietnam to join a meeting with activists whosupport the righteous struggle of Vietnam. The visit laid a foundation for thecall for public support against the Apartheid racialsegregation in South Africa.
According to Mapaila, Vietnam and South Africa have enjoyed a sound partnershipwith high development potential. South African people love Vietnam, consideringthe country as a symbol of the fight against the imperialists.
He said he hopes inthe time to come, the two sides will increase delegation exchanges and organisehigh-level bilateral meetings in both Party and government channel. Throughcultural and people-to-people exchange as well as cooperation in politicaleducation, the two sides can learn from each other, he held.
Mapaila also congratulated the CPV on the glorious victories over the past 93years. He said he hopes the CPV will continue to promote the example of PresidentHo Chi Minh, who led Vietnamese people with his humility and high morals tomany victories. He wished the CPV and Vietnamese people will continue to achievemore success./.
The Vietnam – South African joint committee on trade cooperation convened its fifth meeting in Johannesburg on November 24 to seek ways to foster bilateral economic and trade partnerships.

NA Chairman Tran Thanh Man stressed the need to accelerate the application of artificial intelligence and smart teaching equipment, innovate teaching and assessment methods, and further improve the quality of formal education.
He also pledged that the NA will promote its ongoing supervision, making sure that every promise must lead to results, and every commitment must bring about real changes.
