Soc Trang: Disadvantaged labourers get support for Tet

Entitled "Tet sum vay –Xuan binh an”, the programme was part of activities to take care of workers inthe locality, helping them enjoy a꧋ warm and happy Tet despite impacts of theCOVID-19 pandemic.
According to Chairmanof the provincial Trade Union Nguyen Thanh Son, thanks to the support anddonations of businesses and donors in and outside the locality, it has more resources to support trade union members and workers withdifficult circumstances.
At the event, theprovincial Trade Union presented 7,789 gift packages worth 2.4 billion VND (105,657 USD) in total to workers with serious diseases and those facing difficulties due to the pandemic; and provided860 million VND for constructing and repairing 20 houses for poor labourers.
The provincial Trade Union and its chapters at all levels have coordinatedwith the local authorities and employers to present gifts totaled 16.1 billionVND to 50,589 trade unionmembers and employees during the Tet holiday.
